How has the food industry affected the economy of countries?

Food has become quite possibly one of the largest industries in the world. Since the first day that man was on earth, they have needed food to sustain themselves. There are over hundreds of different genres and types of food, the majority of which can be found in large cities such as New York City, Hong Kong, and San Francisco.

You can go downtown in one of these cities and find Mediterranean food on one street corner, Mexican on the other, and Chinese across the street. Food has shaped our cities by bringing in the population to them and allowing the population and cities to grow with adequate food sources.
