Jasmine and Basmati rice are two rice types that are available. They may look the same in the beginning, but the more that you look at them and their differences, the more that you will realize which one you may need. Jasmine rice is typically shorter as compared to Basmati rice. In fact, if you would check out Basmati rice, you may see that it is actually needle-shaped.
When you cook them, you will notice that the Basmati rice will become even longer than how it was when it was not cooked yet. The texture will also be a bit different. Jasmine rice will be able to maintain its firmness, but the Basmati rice will turn softer and fluffier.
