TIN is known to be Taxpayer Identification Number. This can be very useful for the state and the individual entity. TIN has made it possible for people to have the ability to access a certain amount of data in different states. It is the income tax department that will be responsible for providing the unique TIN.

TAN is known as Tax Deduction and Collection Account Number. TAN will come with both letters and numbers. The letters will signify where the TAN is issued. Take note that a TIN is used to track VAT while TAN is used to monitor collected taxes. It is important to know the differences in order to avoid potential confusion.
