Today, boys and girls, old and young people, all like to play video games. They play so many video games that it is even believed that people can be addicted to playing video games. The first video game console belonged to the Atari corporation. Atari was created in 1972 and Pong was one of the first games that was created.

The actual first home video game console that was sold in the United States was the Atari 2600. Most of the video games were not played at home on a game console like they are today. Instead, they were found in arcades. In the 1970s, two men founded a small company that eventually became Atari and became a much larger company.
