There are six main respiratory organs in our respiratory system such as the nose which performs our sense of smell, pharynx which is the path of our food and air, larynx which produces sound as air passes through it and where our voice box can be found, trachea which is our wind pipe, bronchi which is helps diffuse respiratory gases in and out of the blood stream, and the main organ in the respiratory system which is our lungs.
It is considered to be the main respiratory organ because it carries oxygen throughout our body and picks up carbon dioxide to breathe out when an organism exhales. Without it, we won’t be able to breath and have oxygen flowing inside our body.
