There are some people who can become confused if they are suffering from hives and scabies. During the first stage, the scabies rash will have the tendency to look like hives because of the little red bumps. Some can even say that they may look like little pimples.

When scabies becomes more advanced, they will tend to look a bit more different and easier to distinguish. They will become a bit crusty, or they can also become scaly. There are some scabies mites that may be available under the fingernails, which can cause it to spread faster.

Hives can also cause some itching and some red spots, but they will not usually be found at the skin folds like where scabies normally manifest. The welts of hives can vary in size.
