Although, a lot of people see religion as the breeding ground for superstitions, that still doesn't remove the fact that there are a lot of differences between the two. Religion simply means a particular system of faith and worship of supernatural things like God or gods. Superstition, on the other hand, is the belief in the supernatural things that are void of both scientific and natural explanation. Superstitions can't be explained because they talk about supernatural things and the consequences of your actions. Although, it is really a dangerous thing to believe in something that can't be explained, that's what superstition stands for.

Religion, on the other hand, is a system of belief in something that can be explained. For instance, Christianity is a religion that believes in Jesus Christ, and the activities of Jesus Christ while on earth are everywhere for people to read. Superstitions talk mostly about negative things, and that's why superstitious people live around fear. On the other, religion comes with the belief in the supernatural for divine blessings.
