The belief in the supernatural that is void of scientific or natural explanation can be dated back to a lot of centuries ago. Superstition actually began when people in their wisdom tried to give explanation to some happenings, occurrences that seemed not natural. A lot of beliefs were raised and people started believing them. It should be noted that people had been fed with a whole lot of superstitions even before scientific works started.

People of the old were so quick in their understanding to attach all the strange happenings to supernatural things. These types of practices also found its way into religion, and people started building up ideologies and beliefs about things. For example, a common superstition is that: breaking of glass is an invitation to bad luck, one that might even last for many years. They believed anything that reflects was part of the soul. So, they considered as an unfortunate thing to break a glass.
