Generally speaking, fast food companies offer many tasty meals with high calories and high fat. These restaurants have now started offering some food items that are grilled and not fried, have lower fat and sugar in them. Some offer oatmeal, fresh fruit and vegetables like apples and carrot sticks. Obesity is an epidemic that really should be blamed on the individual. They are ultimately responsible for the food they put in their own bodies.

The fact that restaurants offer these things does not necessarily make obesity their problem. The main problem lies within the obese people. They make the choices of what to eat at mealtimes. They could exercise more and eat less fast food meals. It is good that these restaurants are offering other choices though.
