The only way for food to affect a person’s blood sugar level is by consuming unhealthy, sugar-laden foods. Typically, fast food places sell many of these sweet items that are bad for diabetics who are watching their blood sugar levels. They should stay away from fried fatty foods and of course the sweet desserts, sweet milkshakes, coffee products and soft drinks.

Sometimes, sugar is in items that you normally wouldn’t think have lots of sugar in them. However, the only way the fast food restaurants affect your blood sugar level is if you choose those items off the menu. There are several alternatives like fruit, salads, soups and sandwiches that do not have much sauce on them and contain grilled meats.
