Compost is a way of making waste materials disintegrate by using dirt and soil. When this takes place, it does not cause any bacteria or germs to infiltrate the soil. Instead, the person who is composting is being very selective in the materials that they are putting in their compost. Fast food items like cups are recyclable to a certain degree. With some experiments done at home with a person’s own compost, they can determine if a fast food cup is compostable.

Placing the cup into their compost and waiting will allow them to find the results. Some of the people have found that parts of the cup are compostable due to their materials like paper, but there may be a hidden material in or around the paper. Some find plastic pieces in their compost that won’t disintegrate into the soil.
