To draw a horse, it is helpful to have a picture of a horse in front of you. It is even better for you to be standing in front of a live horse. When drawing a horse, start with the ears. Draw the shape of the ears and any parts of the inner ear that can be seen. Then draw the top of the head and the hair on the top of the head. Then draw the outline of the horse’s head. Then draw the eyes, nose and mouth.
At this point, the artist may want to shade the darker areas of the horse’s head. After that, you can draw the horse’s body by drawing the outline of it and shading in the darker areas.
