Supports the storage of and access to documents within an organization. Knowledge Management is also known as KM. In 1991, it was established as a discipline. Though this is recent, the system has a long history, including discussions that occur on the job, forums, on the job training, and intranets.

Due to its long history, the knowledge management system is practiced in many fields, including business administration, media, public health, library science, and informational science. In almost all businesses, the knowledge management system is practiced, especially through human resource teams and IT.
