What is the percent by mass of potassium nitrate in a solution made from 45.0g KNO3 and 295 mL of water? Density of water is 0.997 g/mL.

The correct answer is option D
First, let’s calculate the mass of water
Mass of water = 295ml 0.997g/ml
= 294 g
To calculate % by mass of potassium nitrate in the solution
% by mass = (45 100) / (45 + 294)
= 13.3%
