The number 1 should be labeled Photosynthesis. This is the process in which plants and animals make chemical energy from light energy. This energy can be used as fuel for the plants and animals activities. The research of this process begin in the 17th century by Jan van Helmont and over time, many scientists have completed research to understand photosynthesis.
The number 2 should be labeled Respiration. This combines a reaction and process, which coverts energy from nutrients into ATP, which stands for adenosine triphosphate. The ATP is then released into waste products.
