Picking a lock is now easy; to pick a lock, you must know your shortcomings, you must know how well your memory and how long it can keep information. Technology has made picking locks way easier; you can just get an automated lock that requires your biometrics or pin.

However, if you still need the traditional lock, just ascertain the type of lock you want, whether it is pushing or twisting.

Look for suitable objects you can use to pick the lock. Push mechanism by inserting the metal into the hole and push until you feel resistance. If the lock is a twist lock, just push through and turn clockwise and counterclockwise till you hear a click.

Some people think that picking a lock is something that everyone must know. Although you have to admit that the locks that are available now are more automated so you may need other skills to start picking the high−tech locks right now.

Still, if you want to know how to pick traditional locks, there are a few tips that you ought to remember:

* Lock picking can still give some people a sense of security.

* You would need to have something thin that you can insert in the lock.

* This will allow you to push the right cylinders that will help unlock the door easily.
With a few simple clicks, skill, and luck, you will be able to open a cylindrical door lock in no time.

• Ascertain the kind of lock you want to pick. Note the type of lock mechanism, whether it is pushing or twisting. Whether the outside doorknob has a keyhole in place of a hole.

• Look for the most suitable object which you can use to pick the lock. If you can’t locate or identify with an object which would be suitable for picking the lock, just get creative. Look for toothpick, pin, and metal anything suitable.

• Use a suitable item to pick the lock. If the lock has a push mechanism, just insert the metal straight into the hole and push through. Push until you feel a bit of resistance, and then keep pushing till you hear a click sound.

• If the lock is a twist lock, you may have to push through and turn the item clockwise and counterclockwise till you hear the click sound

• If this method is not working, remove the doorknob.
