Your thyroid gland sits in the front of your throat, and it is shaped like a butterfly. The gland releases hormones to help your body have energy and keep your organs working as they should. An excess of these hormones causes thyrotoxicosis into your blood, and this causes hyperthyroidism. Graves disease is a condition that causes hyperthyroidism and thyrotoxicosis.

Your immune system thinks that the cells of your thyroid gland are invaders and attacks them with antibodies, making the gland grow and put out more hormone. Nodules that grow on the thyroid can also affect how much hormone the gland produces. Hyperthyroidism is the same in that the thyroid makes and releases too much hormone, which can affect your eyes, vision, and is caused by Graves's disease.

Thyrotoxicosis and Hyperthyroidism are two conditions that deal with the thyroids. Hyperthyroidism is when the thyroids are at an unusually high level of function. When this condition occurs, there is too much thyroxine, which is a hormone. Hyperthyroidism comes with a number of symptoms such as weight loss, sweating, and an irregular heartbeat.

Thyrotoxicosis is when a high number of hormones are circulating. If a person has this condition, it means they have a low TSH, which is thyroid-stimulating hormones. The symptoms of Thyrotoxicosis include sweating, loss of weight, anxiety, feeling weak, the increased need to pass a bowel and tremors.

Thyrotoxicosis and Hyperthyroidism are two different health issues that are related to endocrine. The endocrine system takes the responsibility of appropriating the metabolism of chemicals in the body, playing a big role in determining the healthiness of the body. Hyperthyroidism happens to be a situation whereby the thyroid hormones are hyper-secreted.

These thyroid hormones are being produced by the thyroid gland. The thyroid hormones in our body take responsibility for some metabolic processes, such as temperature, hunger, and many more. On the other side of the coin, thyrotoxicosis is responsible for causing hyperthyroidism. It can simply be defined as a means whereby there is too much thyroid hormone than hyperthyroidism in the blood.

This term can also be referred to as thyroid storm. This is a situation that requires emergency treatment, as it can kill within a twinkling of an eye. The two conditions can be resolved by administering the appropriate drug for the patient, but patients with hyperthyroidism need a closer watch.
