A lot of people may not always be aware of the difference between oxycodone and Percocet. Oxycodone is known to be one of the derivatives of opium. This is usually sold under different names with OxyContin being one of them. Percodan is known to be a combination of acetaminophen and oxycodone. If in case you are not sure what these medications are, they are known as narcotic analgesics.

They are meant to be effective in getting rid of pain and inflammation. There are times when the pain can become so much that these are given instead of non-narcotic analgesics. This type of medication is normally given post-surgery so that the pain can be lessened while the surgical incision heals.
