Acetaminophen belongs to a class of drugs that are used to relieve pain, and can also be used to treat fever. While most pain relievers can also be used to reduce inflammation, acetaminophen is not effective for this, though it may have certain properties that can produce this benefit. Ibuprofen, on the other hand, belongs to a group of drugs that are known as NSAIDs.

It is used mostly to relieve pain and inflammation, and can also be used to treat fever. However, Ibuprofen has been tested to be a better drug than acetaminophen if you are looking for drugs to relieve inflammation.

Also, studies have shown that ibuprofen works better as a pain reliever compared to acetaminophen. However, acetaminophen has been tested to be very effective at relieving fever, and it works better than ibuprofen. In terms of side effects, ibuprofen has been researched to have more side effects than acetaminophen, especially in patients with certain gastrointestinal diseases.

Though they are both used for the same type of conditions, they have different side effects. Ibuprofen can have side effects such as stomach aches and ulcers, while Acetaminophen has little to no side effects, unless the person is allergic to it.

Acetaminophen and Ibuprofen are both Non-steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs, and they are similar when you consider their health benefits. Although they are often described as antipyretics, pain relievers, and anti-inflammatory drugs, there are still little differences between the two. One of the major differences between the two drugs is that ibuprofen has been researched and tested to be more powerful compared to acetaminophen.

It also gives long-term benefits compared to acetaminophen. When searching for a better anti-inflammatory drug, ibuprofen should be preferred because it does not only work as a pain reliever; it also reduces inflammation or swelling. In contrast, acetaminophen only works perfectly as a pain reliever, but it doesn't stop swelling or inflammation. Another difference is that; while you can take acetaminophen without food, ibuprofen should not be taken without food because it can affect the lining of the stomach. Out of the two, ibuprofen produces more benefits as an antipyretic.
