While surgery and operation are terms that are used to denote certain medical practices, there are still some differences between the two. Generally, the term surgery has all its meanings from a medical perspective, while the term operation can be used in different areas, sectors, and fields of life. Surgery simply means a medical procedure that involves the use of incisions to repair, remove, or replace any part of the body. A surgery also means a department or room set aside for the surgical procedure.

The operation, on the other hand, can also share from the meaning given to surgery above, but it can also be any medical procedure created to achieve a particular result. Like I said earlier, the operation has other meanings in relation to other fields and sectors. For example, operation refers to the method by which a machine or device performs its functions. It also means the method by which actions are performed.
