Zithromax and Amoxicillin are two examples of antibiotics that are available in the market. Both Zithromax and Amoxicillin are used to treat bacterial infections in any part of the body. While both produce almost the same result, their mechanism when attacking bacteria is different. The brand name of azithromycin is Zithromax, and it is regarded to be part of medicines that are mostly classified as macrolide antibiotics. It can be used to cure the bacterial infection; it can be used by children to strengthen their immune system.

It works by hindering the growth of a particular bacterium by preventing protein synthesis. On the other hand, amoxicillin can also be used to cure bacterial infections like ear infection, throat infection, lung infections, etc. Amoxicillin is usually classified to be an example of penicillin. It works by destroying the cell wall of any bacteria so that they can no longer sustain their growth.
