AMOLED stands for Active Matrix Organic Light Emitting Diode, while TFT stands for Thin Film Transistor. These are two types of displays used in mobile phones. TFT is a method of supplying the displays and is used to refer to LCDs. The difference between them is that the material as AMOLED creates its light rather than a backlight the way a TFT LCD does.

AMOLED displays are much thinner than LCDs, and the outcome is a wide array of brilliant colors, unlike TFT, which does not produce vibrant colors. TFT consumes more battery than AMOLED; however, TFT tends to have a longer life span of the screen compared to AMOLED.

Each pixel in the display reduces with each second that it remains lit and even more so the brighter it is. TFT possesses a longer lifetime than a TFT display, and the production is also much better as well.
