Groupby and Orderby are terms used in computer programming to sort out data. The only similarity between the two terms is that they are used to arrange items. However, there are some differences between them. Groupby is used in computer programming to arrange or to make an aggregate of different results or items. The items are arranged into columns so that operations like counting, summation, determination of average can be done with ease.

Orderby is also used in computer programming to arrange items in such a way that they maintain a certain uniformity, although it does not change how the items are composed. The effect of Groupby programming on data is so much. Anytime Groupby is used, it changes the form of the items and then performs aggregate, after which the results will be arranged into columns. Orderby does not have so many effects; it only changes how items are arranged so that they can appear neat and organized.

If you have ever gathered data and then sorted it, you may be using a group or order by situation. These clauses are often used to sort data. However, there are some key differences between using these terms to sort data. You would not want to use the wrong term and then your data is sorted not according to what you want. Order by refers to sorting the data into certain columns based on what they have in common.

It also may be sorted in ascending or descending order in those columns. Group by refers to summarizing that group of data based on the information in the columns. The purpose of grouping and ordering will have different outcomes since they have different purposes.
