Since the advent of sophisticated smartphones with excellent cameras, the concept of the selfie has been so much pronounced. However, there have been so many questions and complaints about whether selfie can truly distort one's face. This is true, but this claim is not always true. Face distortion through selfie is simply about the closeness of the camera to one's face. When you place your phone camera by a distance of 8 inches away from your face, you are more likely to have face distortion. Face distortion simply means a part of your face, specifically nose, becomes larger and most times by 30 percent than it appears in real life.

For example, the nose will be closer than the rest of the face. However, you won't experience any form of face distortion when the camera is placed a little bit away from you.
