URI and URL are the acronyms for Uniform Resources Identifier and Uniform Resources Locator. Both URL and URI are related in some ways but there are still differences between them. URI, as the name implies, means something that identifies difference resources or materials, while URL, is used as identifiers which show the location of a resource.

For example, during web development, a programmer can decide to have many URI so that there would be easy Identification of various resources to be used, and he also needs to have a good knowledge about the location of the resources. So, he needs URI for different resources to point him to different locations of the resources using URL. So the difference here is that, URL is just the locator of the resources, while URI can be the identifier of the resources and also the locator. URI can be divided into URL and URN (Uniform Resources Name)

Many people surf the internet, whether it be for fun or work. To do that, they must type in the URL address. Some refer to it as a URL address. The URI and URL are similar, but there is one key distinction between the two, and that is the URI is the larger category, and the URL is a subcategory of the URI.

URI is an abbreviation for Uniform Resource Identifier. URL stands for Uniform Resource Locator. The URL helps you access a website or find information on the internet. All of the URIs are not URLs, but URLs are considered to be URIs. URLs provide or find more specific information on the internet than the URIs do.
