Electric signals are transmitted either by analog way of transmitting information or by digital way of transmitting signals. This works by transforming data like video and audio into an electrical signal, and the electric signal is transmitted via analog means or digital method. Analog is an older technology of transmitting signals, while digital technology is something that just started, and since the advent of digital technology, it has affected how most devices are made. This means electronic devices are now being made to support digital technology, unlike in the past where all devices are made to support analog transmission.

Another difference is that analog devices are cheap to buy, and their services are equally charged to afford, but digital tools and digital transmission are costly. In analog transmission, there is a limitation to the size of data that can be transmitted, while there is no limitation with digital transmission
