Been and being are two words that many people get confused. They end up using the wrong word in their sentences. The reason may be because been and being are both from the verb “to be.” However, they are used differently. Usually, the helping verbs “had,” “has,” or “have” are used before the word “been” in a sentence.

You would never use the words “had,” “has” or “have” before the word “being.” Been is usually used in the past, and being is used in the present. Been is considered to be a past participle of the verb “to be” and being is considered to be the present participle of the verb “to be.” If you used the wrong word, it would not sound correct.
