A job is a work someone is committed to, with the hope that he's getting something in return, so whatever the person is getting in return depends on the agreement reached at the point of accepting the task. The most common reason why people get committed to a job is because they will be paid for it.

Of course, having a job to do is important for us in order to have a meaningful life. When we talk about Job, its meaning some times depend on the context it is used. For instance if I say, I have a job to finish before 2pm, that is referring to a task that must be completed before 2pm and you are not necessarily collecting anything in return. In the context, Job is viewed as a responsibility. There are so many things people do as job today, some are legitimate while some are illegitimate.

A job is also known as a paid position. When you have a job, this means that someone has entrusted you to do certain tasks that will be paid in return. Your payment is your compensation for the things that you have done so far.

There are some people who may also refer to a job as regular employment but there are some people who have jobs only for a short period of time or for a project. Usually, there is compensation for different types of jobs that can be done. Most jobs will be compensated with money but there are also some people who may get a sense of fulfillment instead.

Job is simply a regular work a person does in order to earn a living. The only reason why we commit ourselves to a job is because we know that after every successful completion of all tasks embedded in the job, we are going to get paid.

The pay we receive is actually one motivational force that keeps pushing us into wanting to find a job to do. Today, if you don't have any job, you would be called a lazy person. Another thing that can make someone to be proud of his job, is the uniqueness and usefulness of the job, that is why you see lawyers, doctors, engineers not having the same level with teachers, carpenters.

People engage themselves in different types of job. Some jobs are professional in nature, which means you need a specific period of training before you can start practicing it, while some are just casual in nature because you don't really need a wide level of professionalism before accomplishing the tasks embedded in the job.
