Yes, some medicines contain animal products although the amount of animal products in many medications is minimal. Many patients even some doctor's are unaware that some medications contain animal products.

Examples of some drugs that have animal products are:
- lactose, it is produced from cow rennets.
- Magnesium stearate which is gotten from cow, sheep and pigs.
- Vitamin k is mostly given to new borns is made from bovine bile.
- Gelatin is gotten from animal collagen.

However, there are plant based alternatives to many of these animal based medication. So if you are a vegetarian, check the labels of your medicine. You can also request for a plant based alternative.
