Not all medications increase our weight but certain medications increase our weight. Some of these drugs increase appetite others control your insulin level.

Medications like antipsychotics (haloperidol, clozapine), antidepressants (SSRI, tricyclics), epilepsy drugs (valporate, carbamazepine), steroids, birth control pills, Blood pressure reducing drugs (beta blockers), antihistamines and drugs for diabetes (thiazolidinediones) are medications known to cause weight gain as a side effect.
