Americans suffer from all sorts of mental illnesses. America is a fast-paced country. There is a lot of pressure on the people, causing stress on many people, those that are unable to keep up with the fast paced life are greatly affected.
The most common mental illness are; depression, bipolar disorder, and the less severe dysthymia (low grade depression); anxiety disorders like generalized anxiety disorder, social phobia, agoraphobia, and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and substance abuse. Most of these conditions are as a result of stress and pressure on the people.
The reason for this is simple: more pressure on people that causes them to feel stressed. Stress is known to be a silent killer. It can cause a lot of things. It can cause people to do things that they would not normally do. At the same time, people’s physical health is greatly affected by stress. The more stressed and strained people are, the more possible it would be for them to feel that they are already taking in too much.
They may begin the need to get out of the world that they are living in but in unhealthy mental ways. America is a fast-paced country. There is a very big chance that those who do are not able to keep up may become mentally unstable to cope.
