Mental health affects physical health because If you are not mentally stable and able to take on life with the fullest of awareness that will take a toll on your brain and that could lead to you lashing out on yourself physically. If you feel that you are not enough that is a state of the mind. A state of the mind that may make you physically lash out on yourself by cutting yourself, physically punishing yourself or continually telling yourself your not good enough which is a form of self mental abuse it makesyou think the world would be better off without you and make you do something you might regret.

Our brain is the main controller of our body. Mental health is very much associated with brain. If you are taking stress and tension, it means that your brain is getting affected. When the brain is not working properly, a person is not able to maintain their physical health. So, mental health and physical health are associated to each other.

Poor mental health is a risk factor for chronic physical conditions. Similarly, poor physical health is a risk factor for mental illnesses. These two are often thought as separate entities but they work hand in hand to give an individual a complete good health.

Mental illnesses, such as depression, affect your ability to participate in healthy behaviors. This can result in problems with physical health, such as chronic diseases, and can decrease a person’s ability to participate in treatment and recovery.

A person whose mind is not healthy may have trouble coping with life’s everyday stresses. For example, there are some people who can barely do work because of their anxiety. They feel that everything is bound to go wrong even if nothing is happening yet. There are some who never leave their homes at all because of what they are experiencing.

People with mental illnesses will also have trouble keeping relationships with other people especially if their reason for developing mental illness is because they have been hurt before. Take note though that having poor physical health can lead people to become more prone to mental health issues and vice versa.
