I don’t think there are different versions of the English language they are just different dialects. This means that there are specific words that have a different meaning but they are still considered part of the English language. For example in Great Britain there are certain words that we do not use the United States. However I could figure out what they mean.

Also in the northern part of the United States they also use words that are not used in the south. Again people can usually easily figure them out because they’ve heard that word. One example of that is the word soda or pop. That term is used in the northern part of the United States were as the word coke is used in the south.
