Professor Mad-eye Moody’s real first name is Alastor. He was a pure-blood wizard, known to be the most powerful Auror of all time. Mad-eye was a well-respected and recognized; he fought well during the first and second wizarding wars as a pivotal member of the order of the phoenix and lost some parts of his body like the parts of his nose, his eyes and leg.

In 1994, he accepted Albus Dumbledore’s offer to teach defense against the dark arts at Hogwarts. Mad-eye became a member of the second order of the phoenix; he fought in several wars. He was killed by lord Voldemort.
