There are quite a few Mexican dishes that are healthy to you. Although Mexican dishes are commonly filled with calories, fat, and are high in fiber, this does not necessarily mean that you can choose some alternative Mexican dishes that are tastier, fresher and more healthful to you and your body. Instead of buying nachos, try to buy grilled shrimp.

Avoid carnitas or chorizo and try chicken breast or grilled fish instead. Let go of sour cream and cheese, because salsa, cilantro, pico de gallo, or jalapeno peppers is way better than sour cream and cheese. Buy taco salad or fajita salad instead of tacos and chalupas. If you want flautas, you can substitute it with beef or chicken enchiladas with salsa or red sauce.
