Mexican food is famous for its tacos, enchiladas, tamales, chips and beans which are found to be high in carbs. However, this does not necessarily mean that there are no low carb Mexican dishes available to the public.

Here are some of the low carbs Mexican food that you can choose from: Carne salad, shrimp fajita, mole, chicken fajita, tostada salad (but disregard the shell because shells are high in carbs), ceviche, machaca, salads, albondigas soup, salsa, guacamole, pico de gallo, cilantro, jalapeno peppers, and plain black beans. You have to avoid these Mexican foods because these are high in carbs: Beef and cheese enchilada, refried beans, tortillas, quesadilla, burrito, tacos, nachos, pork carnitas, nachos, falutas, chorizo sausage and chimichangas.
