Herbs are good to use on food because they provide flavor to bland food and they do not contain many calories or fat in them. However, some herbs help make people lose weight. They can cause your metabolism to increase. Tumeric is a spice that helps burn fat. A study was conducted a few years ago that supports this claim. Cinnamon is not only delicious in many foods, but it also helps make you feel less hungry.

Cayenne is a hot spice but it helps increase your metabolism when ingested. Cumin also helps burn fat and can be added to foods like meat and soups. Ginger burns fat and increases your glucose levels. Others include garlic, black pepper, cardamom and dandelion.
