Most people will use a bug spray to get rid of these invaders, but these sprays contain pesticides and other chemicals that can harm people or other animals. However, there is a natural way to keep ants away. First, ants want to go toward food. If they smell something that they like, then they will be attracted to those things.
So, placing bay leaves or a strong herb like basil near the entrance to where these little critters are coming into your house will help. They will be distracted by the smell and will go to the smell instead of into your house. If you want, you could plant these herbs in your garden or even right outside your house in order to attract the ants.
