Are fruit stickers edible?

Fruit stickers are not supposed to be consumed. They are meant to identify the fruits and should be taken off the fruit before consumption. For that matter it is a good idea to wash your fresh fruits and vegetables before consuming them no matter where you got them. Whether they are from the local farmer’s market, the supermarket, or even an organic foods store it is still safer to wash them than not to.

Now with all that said if you do accidentally eat a sticker that is on a fruit you shouldn’t worry very much at all. These stickers are considered edible even down to the glue used to affix them to the fruit. So if you can remember or help it take the sticker off but if you slip up and eat it then it’s no big deal.
