Dogs will show that they recognize their master by flattening their ears. When a dog does this it is called dropped or pinned ears because the ears seem as though they could be pinned against the head. This kind of body language with a dog’s ears shows that they are happy and nervous.

The way a dog is holding its ears will tell you a lot about what the dog is feeling. While the flattened ears mean that the doggy is happy and nervous pricked up ears means the dog is alert and playful. Dogs will offer all kinds of body language to show what they are feeling and the way they hold their ears is just one of the ways that they show what they are feeling.
