Giraffes are the tallest living animals on the earth, measuring up to 18 feet tall with their neck being around 53% of their height. With their incredible height and long tongues, the giraffes are able to feed off of the tallest of trees which supplies them with their nutrition of leaves, flowers, and fruits.
Giraffes live in herds that consist of related females and the offspring. Male giraffes establish dominance amongst a herd by fighting using their necks, referred to as “necking”. Many giraffes are found in captivity throughout the world but are native to many different parts of Africa.
