Bears are known to hibernate in order to survive in the cold. However, some animals who live in the cold do not hibernate. They must take precautions to survive. One way is to move south. It is a common fact that birds migrate south for the winter, but various other animals do as well. Some animals will collect food during the warmer months in order to have food during the winter, while others grow thicker fur and eat lots of food to get larger.
This extra fat keeps them warm. Once these animals have figured out how to survive this winter, they must prepare and be ready to endure a long season. Once that season is over, they will need to start preparing for the next winter to come.
