The balance sheet shows accumulations from the companys inception up to present day. The balance sheet is a snap shot of what the company owns and what it owes at a given point in time. The minority interest on the balance sheet is an accumulated total. The income statement records revenues and expenses over a period of one year. Just because you see a minority interest account on the balance sheet in no way implies that the same numbers should show up on the income statement.
