It can be confusing for some people who are hearing about CIO and CTO for the first time to understand what their differences are. When you say CIO, this is someone who will be in charge of managing the IT infrastructure for the first time. This means that this is a person who will be responsible for managing the relationships of the different aspects of the current structure.

This will make sure that the internal structure is working properly. The CTO, on the other hand, will be in charge of looking at the given technology from the outside. The main goal of the CTO is to make sure that the business will be able to improve externally.
