In the English language, there are many words that sound alike but have different meanings and are spelled differently. The most popular example of this is with the words there and their. There is used to describe a place. It is the opposite of here. An example of using this word is with the sentence, "The last time I saw him, he was over there with his friends." Their is used to describe ownership of people, things, or animals. An example of using there is with the sentence, "Their house was decorated with webbing, ghosts, and skeletons to showcase the holiday of Halloween".
