There are some people who sometimes become confused with which one that they are going to use because they know that shall and should are both auxiliary verbs. Even if they are similar, they have different meanings. “Should” is normally used as the past tense of “shall.”

There are a lot of people who may not often use this. Most of the time, they use “shall” when they would like to become more formal with their way of writing or speaking. “Should” can be used by people when they are talking informally with their friends or family members but when it comes to formal writing, the word “shall” might still be used more often. Sometimes, you can also say “should” when you want to make a suggestion and you will use “shall” when you are trying to make an order.
