One of the obvious differences between a teaspoon and a tablespoon is their size. Tablespoons are generally bigger than teaspoons. The difference in their size is actually because both are made specifically to serve different purposes. Teaspoons are used mostly to stir or add sugar to tea.

Most times, teaspoons are the idea cutlery set for measuring the volume of certain materials while cooking. There are other types of cutlery sets that look more like teaspoons; they are; coffee spoons, dessert spoons, and Orange spoons. On the other hand, tablespoons are used mostly to prepare food and also for serving food.

The volume of a tablespoon and a teaspoon is not the same for every country. However, in the United States, the volume of a tablespoon is equivalent to that of three teaspoons. Another difference is that teaspoons are usually denoted with 'tsp' while tablespoons are usually denoted with “Tbsp."
