An RCA is a connector, also called a phono connector. It is used to carry audio and video signals and has been in use since the early 1940s. This connection goes from peripheral audio or video output to the input on your television. The ends have a single pin plug and come in sets of three with color white, yellow, and red.

Coaxial cable has a different type receptacle on end with a single pin and a sheath that screws onto the adapter. The cable comes from the data source and goes into the input on the back of the receiver, which could be a device with radio, ethernet, audio, and television. RCA transmits from component to component.

RCA and coaxial cables are related to one another for the company RCA where the standard of the cables was developed. RCA stands for Radio Corporation of America. The cable is a paired connector. It is mainly used for the purposed of connecting equipment like audio and video.

Coaxial cables have a structure that is simple. The word coaxial means the same axis; this is why it is a simple structure because the cable is designed that way. It includes a conductor, which is inner.

The conductor has insulators that are wrapped in another conductor, known as secondary. These types of cables are still used today, while RCA cables are not.

Talking about matters concerning the connection of devices such as TVs, music and video players, and sound systems, RCA cables are quite common. It is very easy to mistake RCA with the coaxial cables. RCA is an abbreviation for Radio Corporation of America, which is the name of the company where the standard was developed, which is a paired connector that is typically used for connecting audio and video equipment.

While coaxial cable, on the other hand, is just a type of cable which has a simple structure. Coaxial basically means the same axis, and that is how the cable is also arranged. It actually comprises of an inner conductor, which is surrounded by an insulator that is then wrapped in a secondary conductor, after then a final insulator. A cross-section would do the job of revealing a set of concentric circles alongside with alternating conductor and the insulator.
