The “middle ages” is known to be the time period from the classical antiquity up until the modern era. This means that this period lasted from 500 to 1500 AD. Some people say that this is signified by the fall of the Roman Empire and the Byzantine Empire.

The New World has also started to become discovered at this point. The “dark ages” is said to be very similar to the middle ages. Instead of 500 to 1500 AD though, it lasted from 500 to 1000 AD. After the “dark ages,” there was an increase in the invasions of Barbarians. There were a lot of empires that have fallen and the culture definitely deteriorated.
