Now and then are two words that have the opposite meaning of each other. Now means that it is happening in the present moment, and then suggests that it already happened, and it is in the rearview mirror. These two words can be utilized for tenses like the simple past, present, perfect, present perfect continuous, and simple present.

The use of now and then helps people to use separate tenses and attempt to distinguish between the two -time relationships. After all, people may have been a certain way then, and now they are a different way. It’s the marriage to the present, which helps us to understand both the differences and the similarities.
